AN EXHIBITION OF 3D PAINTINGS BY NEBOJŠA JAKŠIĆ

26. August 2019.

Medvedja – An exhibition of paintings by Nebojša Jakšić, entitled "Scroll Saw – Film Faces" and "Scroll Saw - Animals" is underway in the hall of the Cultural Center in Medvedja.  The portraits of actors and the pictures of animals that are on display are done in a three-dimensional format, or as 3D pictures.

The hollow wood-carving technique, used to make almost the whole set-up, is a play of light and shadow, which gives the pictures depth, so that they seem to be three-dimensional.

They are made on 10 mm plywood, while others that do not have cavities are created by joining several thin layers of wood of different shades, thus creating relief and fullness.

Nebojša Jaksic, a graduate architect, began using this technique about ten years ago.

He had his first exhibition in 2014 in Leskovac, and also exhibited in Lebane, Medvedja, Sijarinska Spa and at the Sopot Film Festival.  He is currently participating with one of his works in the Bata Stojkovic Days event in Vrnjacka Banja, and plans to have an exhibition of portraits of actors for the Leskovac Film Directing Festival, as well as an exhibition in Belgrade.

Although he is constantly working on new paintings, many of them are not included in this exhibition, since they are already in the hands of well-known and distinguished people, such as ambassadors of foreign countries, ministers and statesmen, to whom they were given as gifts during their official visits.

Those interested can see the exhibition during the next month in the hall of the Medvedja Cultural Center.
