AMBULANCE FOR MEDVEDJA

28. July 2017.

Medvedja – Yesterday, Alexander Chepurin, the Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia, handed over to the Health Center in Medvedja an ambulance, which had been provided by the Russian Humanitarian Mission in Nis.

Ambassador Chepurin said that the humanitarian exchange had always been practiced and recalled that around 100 years ago, 400 Russian doctors had voluntarily come to that region during the Balkan wars.

Ambassador Chepurin said that he had the impression that Medvedja was a wonderful place.

“We were excited while being driven here, for you have a lot of beautiful mountains and forests, "Ambassador Chepurin said.

Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, could not say whether the ambulance would be used to help the Serbs who live on the other side of the administrative line, or in Kosovo and Metohija.

In honor of the distinguished visitor, an appropriate cultural and artistic program was organized in the center of Medvedja.
