AMBASSADORIAL INVESTMENT PROMOTION TEAMS

Belgrade – As of today, Bujanovac, Vranje, Leskovac, Pirot and Subotica will have ambassadorial teams that will be working on improvement of business climate in them, so that those cities could attract investors, said the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED).  

Each of the above-mentioned towns is going to get a three-member team, which will include an ambassador from an EU country and Israel, a director of a foreign company that conducts business operations in Serbia and a mayor/president of the municipality. The said teams will be working on introduction of EU standards, improvement of local self-governments, permit issuing procedures and on improvement of the conditions for carrying out business operations. The teams will also put efforts into encouraging business cooperation with foreign countries, as well as into economic development of Serbia, which will start from the local level.  

Members of the said ambassadorial teams include Ambassadors of Portugal, Spain, Slovenia, Israel and Slovakia to Serbia, Directors of VIP Mobile, Ball Packaging, Tiger, Aseko and Hypo Alpe Adria Bank, as well as the mayors/presidents of the municipalities.
