ALBANIAN DIASPORA AND BUSINESSMEN DISTRIBUTED OVER 500 AID PACKAGES

9. April 2020.

Presevo, Bujanovac - In an action organized by numerous members of the Albanian diaspora and local businessmen, over 500 households in Bujanovac and Presevo received packages containing essential food items and hygiene products, as the aid provided during the state of emergency, which was introduced due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Priorities are given to the households whose members cannot move and are socially disadvantaged.

“The action lasts for about twenty days. The first round of the distribution, which was conducted according to a list we have made with the help of local communities, has been completed and the second round is about to begin, "said Nedzat Behluli, a local businessman and one of the organizers of the action.

He also said that the value of the package was around RSD 5,000, but that money was the smallest problem:

“The biggest problem is the distribution of aid, both because of the curfew and the justified people’s fear from getting infected. However, we managed to finish the first round and will now start from the beginning, "Mr. Behluli says.

Last week, the municipality of Bujanovac distributed 141 aid packages to all 28 local communities, for which 500,000 dinars had been set aside.
