A SESSION OF THE PRESIDENCY OF THE COORDINATION BODY FOR THE MUNICIPALITIES OF PRESEVO, BUJANOVAC AND MEDVEDJA WAS HELD

10. September 2009.

The third session of the Presidency of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja was held since representatives of the Albanian community had rejoined the Coordination Body. The session was attended by all members of the Presidency, representatives of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.

Current political and economic issues in South Serbia were discussed in a constructive atmosphere. Members of the Presidency also talked about the issues in the fields of education, as well as about establishment of the Albanian National Council, issues in the filed of the media and justice.
 
Milan Markovic, President of the Coordination Body and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, announced the opening of the Office of the Republican Protector of Citizens in Bujanovac and Presevo.

Petar Antic, Assistant Minister of Human and Minority Rights, informed members of the Presidency about provisions of the Law on National Minority Councils and stated that a meeting in Bujanovac would be held, during which he would be replying to the questions of all political representatives of the Albanians from South Serbia regarding the new law that specifies the establishment of national councils.

Mira Tadic, Assistant Justice Minister, informed members of the Presidency of the situation relating to the selection of magistrates in the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.
