A CALL FOR FIREFIGHTERS HAS BEEN ISSUED

Bujanovac, Presevo – The Ministry of the Interior issued a call for enrolling 200 trainees for vocational training for firefighting and rescue operations throughout Serbia.

The competition is open from March 25 to April 9, 2019, and it also includes vacancies in the Pcinj district:

For the needs of the firefighting - rescue battalion in Vranje – two vacancies, 

For the needs of the firefighting department in Bosilegrad -  two vacancies, in Presevo – three vacancies and in Bujanovac – one vacancy. 

Eligible to apply are also those holding a valid national driving license for driving a “B” category motor vehicle, but who did not pass the driving test for "C" category motor vehicle, with the obligation to pass it within a year and a half from the day of completing the basic training for members of the firefighting units. 

The selection of candidates for the basic training course for members of the Ministry’s firefighting and rescue units is carried out by a commission appointed by the Minister of the Interior.

The application for the competition, along with the documentation, is to be submitted to the police station by the place of residence of the candidate, within 15 days from the day of publishing the competition in the “Politika” daily. 

 The procedure takes from one to three days, depending on the results achieved during the first or second day.

Candidates are required to meet specific criteria and pass the selection process, which includes medical examinations, psychological selection, basic motor status checkup and interview.

The Ministry of the Interior and the candidate who, upon the conducted competition, has been received for the course for basic training of members of the Ministry’s firefighting and rescue units, conclude an agreement on mutual rights and obligations.

A trainee who successfully completes basic training of members of the Ministry’s firefighting and rescue units receives a certificate and gets the opportunity to be employed by the Ministry of the Interior, in accordance with the law and by-laws governing this matter.

Upon the completion of training of members of firefighting units, the employment is based on the status of a trainee in a firefighting-rescue unit, with the duty to remain at the Ministry for at least five years, or to compensate for the costs of vocational training.
