60 MILLION DINARS IN GRANTS FOR SOUTH SERBIA’S BUSINESSMEN

15. May 2013.

Bujanovac – The Office of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia allocated 25.5 million dinars of subsidized funds to businessmen from the municipality of Bujanovac, 22.5 million to those from the municipality of Presevo and 12 million to those from the municipality of Medvedja. The competition for the funds shall be opened as of May 21, said Jelena Varagic, Assistant Director of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, in Bujanovac yesterday.

Ms.Varagic said at the presentation of the economic program for awarding the grants in Bujanovac that the entrepreneurs whose seats were based in those municipalities, who had at least two employees, whose accounts weren’t blocked, against whom bankruptcy proceedings weren’t launched and whose companies had existed for at least two years, were eligible to apply for the subsidized funds.

"Those who received subsidized funding last year can’t apply for it this year. The maximum amount of funds that are allocated to a company is three million dinars", said Ms. Varagic.

She noted that the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja had been awarding subsidized funds to small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to agricultural cooperatives, since 2012, when businessmen from the three municipalities also received a total of 60 million dinars of subsidies, out of whom seven entrepreneurs were from the municipality of Bujanovac, five from Presevo and three from Medvedja.

"All those who received subsidized funds last year were required not to dismiss from work for three years the employees they intended to employ after getting the subsidized funds, while all such companies are currently being checked whether the received funds were invested in increasing production and creating jobs", Ms. Varagic said.

The program of allocating subsidized funds is aimed at assisting the economic development of the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja and at encouraging employment.
