550 BEDS DELIVERED

Presevo - 550 beds, which had been provided by the European Union and the Government of Switzerland, were delivered, yesterday, to the Reception Centre for Refugees in Presevo. That was a continuation of last week's aid, when 700 sets of bed sheets and 350 pillows were delivered, said the "EU Progress" program.

In the course of September, ten mesh containers, a water tank and 15 mobile toilets were delivered to the Center, it was said in a statement. The aforementioned items were provided as part of the aid package worth close to 240, 000 euros, which the EU and the Government of Switzerland, through the “EU Progress” development program, provided for the needs of the Presevo-based Reception Center for Migrants.

The delivered items will help the Centre to provide care to the most vulnerable refugees and meet the basic hygienic and sanitary requirements needed for receiving people. The requirements were identified in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs and the Commissioner for Refugees.

As part of the same aid package, the EU and the Government of Switzerland provided funds for the purchase of a truck for collecting garbage, which is for the needs of the local self-government. Thanks to the said vehicle, the local utility company will be able to better maintain the cleanliness, as well as to maintain a satisfactory level of cleanliness in the city.
