50 JOBS FOR WORKERS FROM MEDVEDJA

19. March 2018.

Мedvedja - Besim Minkara, the Director of the "Lebanteks" factory and a representative of the Turkish company "Ormo," visited the municipality of Medvedja and met with Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, Goran Ivanovic, the Deputy Mayor, and Svetlana Todorovic, the Head of the Municipal Administration of Medvedja. Mr. Minkara’s visit to Medvedja was aimed at recruiting workers from the municipality for the "Lebanteks" factory in Lebane.

“At the opening of the "Lebanteks" factory in Lebane, in the presence of Aleksandar Vucic, the President of Serbia, we promised that we would, apart from workers from Lebane, employ workers from Medvedja and Bojnik. For the time being, the factory has over 130 employees, while we are planning to employ more workers this May. Our plan is to employ 50 workers from this municipality and I hope that we will have excellent cooperation, as we are having with the municipality of Lebane. At the moment, we have three workers from your municipality in our factory and we have nothing but praise for them, as well as for other workers from Lebane," Mr. Minkara said.

The plant in Lebane produces around 3 tons of high quality wool per day, which is around 60 tons of wool per month. The wool is produced in a variety of colors, while a superior quality of knitwear is produced from it. The "Ormo 'group is the largest exporter of wool in the world, and the" Lebanteks" factory is the first that the company has opened outside of Turkey.

“We have done a lot of things to keep young people in our community but what is most important for an environment and for the stay of young people in the municipality are jobs.  The municipality of Medvedja has done a lot in terms of infrastructure, sports, culture and tidying up of the city. We have provided all the conditions for the stay of the young in our community. We have employed all young people with university degrees, while we are also working on bringing investors to our municipality. These 50 new jobs will mean a lot to our community, especially to the female workforce, for which there is a need in the "Lebanteks" factory, “Mayor Arsic said.
