PROJECT „ACTIVE CITIZENS“

Belgrade – Snezana Samardzic Markovic, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Andrew Glass, Director of the British Council’s office in Belgrade, are going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation on the project „Active Citizens“. On that occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the British Council and 13 cities and municipalities, which will be participating in the project over the next three years and which include Ivanjica, Kladovo, Knjazevac, Krusevac, Lajkovac, Novi Pazar, Priboj and Presevo, is also going to be signed, it was said in the statement. The „Active Citizens“ project is going to enable the development of and support to the activities of youth leaders from local communities through youth workshops, projects useful for society, as well as through programs for international exchange and  global citizenship. Under the plan, over 700 persons and 30 leaders from youth offices should participate in the program, which is aimed at intercultural dialogue and global citizenship. The vision of the program is the world in which young people recognize their potentials and try to get involved in it for the purpose of developing their communities both on the national and international level.
