15 000 GUEST WORKERS EXPECTED TO ARRIVE IN SOUTH SERBIA

19. July 2011.

Bujanovac – The community services in Presevo and Bujanovac are going to have prolonged working hours until August 15, 2011, so that they could meet the needs of Presevo and Bujanovac residents that temporarily work abroad and that wish to spend their vacations in their home towns. Over 15,000 Albanians from Presevo and Bujanovac are expected to spend their summer holidays in their homeland.

“The way of living in Presevo has already changed. The streets are crowded with the people and cars, while the shops and cafes are operating at full steam. We expect the arrival of several thousand cars and nearly 10,000 of our citizens with their families“, says Ragmi Mustafa, the President of the Municipality of Presevo. He expects that the registry office would be under a great deal of pressure because the people use this period for getting married and for family gatherings. That is why it was decided that the appropriate offices of the local self-government would be available to the citizens all day long until August 15.

The situation in Bujanovac is exactly the same, while police officers in charge of traffic said that they had stepped up control at their check points in the villages of Miratovac, Oraovica, Crnotince and Rajince, which are situated in the municipality of Presevo, as well as in the villages of Trnovac, Breznica, Muhovac and Biljaca, which are situated in the municipality of Bujanovac.

It is expected that around 5, 000 cars would flood Presevo and Bujanovac in July and August.
