Medvedja

The municipality of Medvedja belongs to the Jablanica district and it extends over an area of 524 km2.  There are 10,760 inhabitants in Medvedja, out of  whom two thirds are Serbs, one thirs (26%) Albanians and around 3.5% are  Montenegrians.  Medvedja is 320 km away from Belgrade, on the M-9 Leskovac – Priština highway, and it is 90 km away from the  nearest airport (Niš).  Medvedja’s most important resources include the “Lece” zinc, lead, silver and gold mine and Sijarinska Spa, with its geo-thermal waters of various chemical composition.
