US SUPPORT FOR THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF PRESEVO

Presevo - During the talks held between representatives of the authorities in Presevo and a delegation of the US Embassy in Serbia, which was led by Jeremy Long, the Political Secretary of the embassy, US support, primarily the one in attracting foreign investors, was promised to the new local authorities in Presevo.

INVESTORS FROM SLOVENIA VISITED MEDVEDJA

Medvedja - The pellet plant in the municipality of Medvedja, which has been non-operational for a long time, should go into production by the end of the first quarter of the year. The agreement on starting production was reached by Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, and representatives of the Slovenian "Biogen" company.

POWER OUTAGE CAUSED BY ICY RAIN FIXED

Bujanovac – The Electric Power Distribution Company’s teams successfully fixed a defect on the electrical grid in the village of Dobrosin near Bujanovac, as well as in the villages of Rusce and Donja Otulja.

Belgrade - The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications issued a public call for the allocation of subsidies and grants earmarked for tourism development projects in 2017.

MEETING OF THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL HELD IN MEDVEDJA

Мedvedja – The 30th consecutive meeting of the Municipal Council was held in Medvedja, during which 15 points of the agenda were discussed. “At today's session of the Municipal Council, several urgent points of the agenda were discussed, since we were obliged to respond to them by January 23.

MINISTRY OF DEFENSE ISSUED A CALL FOR BEING ENTERED INTO MILITARY RECORDS

Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja - The Ministry of Defense issued a general call for entering into military records the Serbian citizens who will be 18 this year.  This legal obligation should also be fulfilled by those who for some reason have not yet been entered into military records, so that they will have to contact the Ministry of Defense’s centers in their cities and municipalities.

CALL FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE '' START UP ACCELERATOR"MENTOR PROGRAM ISSUED (DEALINE: JANUARY 31, 2017)

The French-Serbian Chamber of Commerce announced a competition for a mentoring program called "START-UP ACCELERATOR" that targets young entrepreneurs and managers up to 40 years of age who want to start or accelerate the growth of their companies.

MIGRANTS FROM BELGRADE AND SUBOTICA HEAD FOR THE RECEPTION CENTER IN PRESEVO

Presevo – There are currently around 980 people at the Reception Center in Presevo, including over 250 children and the young up to the age of 18. Valon Arifi, the Head of the "Youth for Refugees” NGO, said that all the conditions for normal life during winter, such as food, health care and heating, fun workshops for children and recreation spots for adults, had been provided to the migrants at the center.

HIRING NEW WORKERS FOR THE LEGALIZATION OF BUILDINGS

Belgrade – The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure announced that it would hire 889 new workers in 130 cities and municipalities in Serbia in January, for the purpose of implementing the Law on the Legalization of Buildings faster.
