PRESENTATION OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPROVING THE TEACHING OF SERBIAN AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

The Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities - National Communities and the Pedagogical Institute of Vojvodina hosted the representatives of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia and representatives of the local self- governments and teachers from the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. The meeting was held on May 28, 2015, at the building of the Assembly of the AP (Autonomous Province) of Vojvodina, as part of the implementation of the recommendations for the improvement of teaching and learning Serbian as a second language in primary schools in Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.

Amended List of Candidates from the Municipality of Bujanovac that Had Met the Formal Requirements of the Coordination Body’s Call for Applications for Scholarships for Studies at the Universities of Novi Sad and Belgrade in 2015/2016

The Selection Commission of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja for granting scholarships for studies at the University of Novi Sad and the University of Belgrade, the Faculty of Philology – the Department for the Albanian Language and Literature, additionally checked compliance with the formal requirements of the call for applications for candidates from the municipality of Bujanovac that had applied and drafted an amended list of candidates who had met the formal requirements of the call for applications for scholarships for studies at the Universities of Novi Sad and Belgrade.

Vranje, Presevo – The Interior Ministry stated that the police in Vranje kept in custody of up to 48 hours 13 people on suspicion of organizing the transport of illegal migrants.

LACK OF MONEY AND UNEMPLOYMENT IN PRESEVO, BUJANOVAC AND MEDVEDJA

Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja – The life of residents of the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja today is like the one of residents of most places in South Serbia – hard and with no money and jobs.  People are mostly employed in governmental bodies and local self-governments.

“GORNJA JABLANICA” (UPPER JABLANICA) CHESS PLAYERS BEST IN THE REGION

Medvedja – Upon winning the trophy at the competition held in Jablanica District, the “Gornja Jablanica” chess club" was once again successful in the final leg of the Cup of Central Serbia, which was held in Vrnjacka Spa, where it won the 10th place in the matches played against major and minor league teams.

PRESIDENT OF THE COORDINATION BODY MET WITH THE OMBUDSMAN

Bujanovac – Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic, who, together with his associates, is on a two-day visit to the municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac, met today, on the premises of the Bujanovac-based Coordination Body’s Office, with Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.

SERBIAN PRESIDENT TOMISLAV NIKOLIC VISTED PCINJ DISTRICT

As part of his visit to Pcinj District, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic,  held in Vranje a meeting, which was attended by the President of the Coordination Body, Zoran Stankovic, the Governor of Pcinj District, Slavisa Bulatovic, the Mayor of Vranje, Zoran Antic, the MPs and municipal presidents.
