AWARDS GRANTED TO BEST NURSES FROM PCINJ DISTRICT

Vranje - On the occasion of the Day of Nurses, which is observed on May 12, the Association of Health Workers from Pcinj district accorded recognition to nurses from Pcinj district, which was in the form of silver badges. This year, the award ceremony was organized a bit earlier at the Municipal Hall of the City of Vranje.

ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEATH OF SOLDIERS MARKED IN THE VILLAGE OF RELJAN

Presevo – The anniversary of the death of seven soldiers and officers, members of the 78th.  Motorized Brigade that got killed in the 1999 NATO bombing campaign, was marked in the village of Reljan, near Presevo.

BANKRUPTCY AS A REMEDY FOR THE REVIVAL OF COMPANIES’ BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Belgrade – “The Government of the Republic of Serbia is planning to introduce new legislation on bankruptcy, which would create conditions for bankruptcy to become the cure for the revival of companies’ business operations, "said Zeljko Sertic, the Minister of Economy of Serbia.

MR. STANKOVIC AND MR. FRANCKEN ON THE ISSUE OF IMMIGRANTS

Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, met today with Theo Francken, the Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration of the Government of the Kingdom of Belgium. In a meeting that lasted for about an hour, they discussed the issues of immigrants, noting that the number of immigrants from South Serbia, who sought political asylum in Western Europe, declined significantly in 2014.

THREE AND A HALF MILLION EUROS FOR INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS IN THE SOUTHEAST AND SOUTHWEST SERBIA

The call for submission of proposals of summarized local infrastructure projects in 34 municipalities in the southeast and southwest Serbia, which include the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja as well, for which the European Union earmarked 3.5 million euros, is ongoing. The selection and contracting of projects will be carried out through the Central Finance and Contracting Unit (CFCU) at the Ministry of Finance of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, as part of the European PROGRESS program. The call is open until April 28, 2015.

OVER FOUR KILOGRAMS OF HEROIN IMPOUNDED

Presevo – According to the Customs Administration, the attempt at smuggling over four kilograms of heroin was prevented at the Presevo border crossing.

MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE MEETS WITH BUSINESSMEN OF PRESEVO, BUJANOVAC AND MEDVEDJA

The Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Snezana Boskovic Bogosavljevic and the President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja Zoran Stankovic spoke yesterday with businessmen and representatives of the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja about restarting the production of the former “Jugokop” slaughterhouse, the operation of veterinary inspection and the sale of tobacco from the region.

SEVERAL FOREIGN CURRENCY VIOLATIONS COMMITTED DURING EASTER HOLIDAYS

Presevo – During the Easter holidays, customs officers at the Presevo border crossing identified foreign currency violations on a daily basis, so that as many as four such cases were identified in four days, the Customs Administration said.
