ALBANIANS WAIT FOR FREE TEXTBOOKS ON SEPTEMBER 1

According to the Ministry of Education’s data, the catalogue of approved textbooks in minority languages ​​in primary education includes 1. 065 textbooks from the first to the eighth grade – those in the Albanian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Romanian, Ruthenian, Slovak, Ukrainian, Croatian and Czech languages, as well as those in  the Bunjevac speech. There are 230 titles in the catalogue of textbooks in minority languages ​​in secondary education – those in the Bosnian, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Romanian, Ruthenian, Slovak and Croatian languages.

DELEGATION OF THE ELECTRIC POWER INDUSTRY OF SERBIA TODAY IN BUJANOVAC

Nis – Due to the recent events in the National Assembly of Serbia, when Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic spoke with the MPs, and the enormous debts of the population in the southern Serbian municipalities for unpaid electricity, a delegation consisting of members of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia and the electric power company “Jugoistok Nis“is today paying a visit to Bujanovac.  The reason for the visit to Bujanovac, Presevo and Vranje has to do with the unpaid electricity bills.

"SIGNED" - 100 SIGNATURES FROM BUJANOVAC

As part of the Autonomous Women's Center’s project "The Joint Effort - Towards New European Standards in the Protection of Women against Gender-based Violence", the Helpline from Vranje is implementing the “Signed” campaign.  In the second phase of the campaign, activists of the Helpline Vranje, in partnership with NGOs from Bujanovac, the Youth Office from Bujanovac and male and female volunteers of the Civil Resource Centre (CRC) NGO organized a collection of signatures, distribution of information materials and the putting up of posters in the center of Bujanovac.

SERBIAN PRIME MINISTER ALEKSANDAR VUCIC REPLIES TO THE QUESTION POSED BY MP SAIP KAMBERI

Belgrade - Responding to a question of a representative of the Albanian minority in the Serbian parliament Saip Kamberi relating to when the students from the first to the fourth grade of primary school in that community would receive free textbooks in Albanian, the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said that the textbooks would reach them by September 1: 

“You're absolutely right, since such problems existed in the past, too. There are also problems with textbooks in the Bulgarian and Croatian languages and we shall do our best to resolve them before September 1. The state shall meet all of its obligations towards all of its citizens, but we expect that you yourself and everyone else in Bujanovac, Presevo and Medvedja fulfill your obligations towards the state and begin paying your bills regularly, as Serbia has the right to collect what belongs to it“, said Prime Minister Vucic.

ELECTRICITY ARRIVED IN MEDVEDJA

Medvedja - The Mayor of Medvedja Slobodan Draskovic said that the majority of the population in the municipality had got electricity in the afternoon and that water from a dozen flooded homes had been pulled out of them.

ASSAULT ON WORKERS OF VRANJE’S ELECTRIC POWER DISTRIBUTION COMPANY

Vranje – Yesterday, Elisa Salihi from Veliki Trnovac physically assaulted an on-duty team of  the Vranje-based  Electric Power Distribution Company. 

“During the attack, Salihi inflicted slight injuries on two of our workers with a metal bar, and then, with several blows, damaged our company’s “Jugo” car  where members of our team were”, it was confirmed by the Electric Power Distribution Company.

CANADIANS LOOKING FOR GOLD IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MEDVEDJA

The Canadian companies “Avala Resources” and “Danube Minerals”, which are daughter companies of the Canadian companies that are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, said that they had signed an agreement on their integration.  Both parent companies had already funded the local geological and exploration projects in Serbia, which they would continue doing in the coming period, too.
