DRIED WATER-SPRINGS AROUND BUJANOVAC

Bujanovac – Several villages along the border with Macedonia, which are situated in the municipality of Bujanovac, are, from the beginning of July, supplied with water from the water tanks, because the sources of drinking water in the area dried up, said yesterday the technical director of the city’s public enterprise "Komunalac" Sami Aliji.

GOLD COINS FOR BEST STUDENTS

Leskovac - Zoran Kostic, Assistant Minister of Education and Science, gave recently to the pupils of primary and secondary schools in the Jablanica and Pcinj districts albums containing 25 coins with the portraits of statesmen, scholars, saints and artists who had left their marks in the Serbian history.

Vranje - In recent years, many informative web portals are all over the south of Serbia. All of them are struggling for the Internet readers. Owners and editors of these sites justify their existence by the fact that citizens are interested in what happens in their area of service, starting from the service, through sports, to political information, which often have no place in the "big" media.

PACKAGES FOR THE POOREST

Presevo –The "Solidarity and Improvement Center" NGO from Presevo distributed humanitarian aid to 25 vulnerable families in the municipalities of Bujanovac and Presevo. The packages contain the most needed food and hygiene products. The said humanitarian organization has been providing humanitarian aid to the poorest six times per year since 2007.

USAID AND HELP AGAINST UNEMPLOYMENT

Belgrade - Representatives of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the German humanitarian aid organization “Help” signed the agreement, under which the implementation of partnership programs to reduce youth unemployment in South Serbia and Sandzak will be extended. USAID is obliged by the agreement to provide training in basic business skills to a group of 259 winners of ”Help” grants to start up production, which amounts to 3, 000 US dollars per person.
