TRAINING CENTER FOR YOUTH FROM BUJANOVAC, VRANJE AND PRESEVO

Source:  Jugpress / Vranjska banja - After a year of successful implementation, the “YouthBuild” program continues to be carried out in Presevo, Bujanovac and Vranje. Over the next six months, 40 new young people will attend training in the skills necessary for employment and activism in the community.

YOUTH EMPLOYMENT FOR REGIONAL STABILITY

Source: Jugpress / Bujanovac – Nagip Arifi, Mayor of Bujanovac, said that the priority of the local self-government was to create new jobs and hire people, adding that that was a condition for stability of the region. “There are nearly sixty percent of unemployed people in Bujanovac, including eighty percent of the young under the age of 35, "Mr. Arifi said yesterday, adding that there were a total of 7, 000 employees among residents of the municipality. “Bujanovac is a very poor municipality, but it is also very young when it comes to the age of its residents, so that the young are the most the numerous among the employees”, Mr. Arifi said after signing a contract on the project entitled “The Young Think of Business”.

ALBANIAN NATIONAL COUNCIL MOVED INTO NEW PREMISES IN BUJANOVAC

Source: Narodne novine – Nis / The new office of the Albanian National Council was officially opened in Bujanovac. This solved the problem of inadequate and temporary accommodation, which the National Council has used since its establishment, which was in June 2010, until now. The premises for the future work of the National Council were provided by the municipality of Bujanovac, while the renovation and refurbishment of the premises were carried out thanks to the National Council’s own funds. Fitting the premises out with office furniture, computers and other equipment, which amounted to nearly 10,000, was done by the European Union and the Government of Switzerland, through the European Partnership with Municipalities Program - EU PROGRES.

GOVERNMENT’S PRIORITY – DEVELOPMENT OF SOUTH SERBIA

Source: Narodne novine - Nis / Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, said that a meeting with representatives of five districts (Nis, Pirot, Toplica, Jablanica and Pcinj) would take place in the coming weeks. He also added that over half of the least developed municipalities in Serbia were located in that part of the country.

TWO CONTIGENTS OF SERBIAN PEACEKEEPERS SENT OFF FROM ARMY BASE “JUG”

Source: Narodne novine - Nis / Bujanovac - The army base "Jug" near Bujanovac recently organized a farewell party for two Serbian Army contingents for the UN peacekeeping mission on Cyprus and in Lebanon, which further confirms the positive image of Serbia abroad.

ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES

The development of the plan was one of the priorities of inter-municipal partnerships between Vranje, Presevo, Bujanovac and Vladicin Han, which was established under the USAID’s Sustainable Local Development Program.

RURAL WATER SUPPLY

The Albanian-Serbian coalition decided to set aside 4.6 million dinars from its budget for constructing water-supply in Letovica.
