Bujanovac – The veterinary station in Bujanovac, together with the Italian organization CRIC, provided 20 heifers to cattle – breeders in four Bujanovac villages.

JAPAN DONATED 200 BEE-HIVES TO VRANJE AND BUJANOVAC EACH

The Government of Japan, through the Skoplje-based office of Japan’s „JARC“ non-governmental organization, provided 200 fully equipped bee-hives to be-keepers from Vranje and Bujanovac each, said Srdjan Vasiljevic, Vranje’s Assistant Mayor for the field of agriculture.

Minister Oliver Dulic Said that Concrete Waste Recycling Projects Would be Implemented in Four South Serbia’s Municipalities

Vranje – In accordance with the systemic solution of the issue of collecting and recycling solid waste, a special facility will be built in Vranje, which a foreign donor will finance with 450,000 euros, said Oliver Dulic, Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, in Vranje.   Upon having talks with the Mayor of Vranje and Presidents of the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac, Trgoviste and Vladicin Han, he underscored that the solution in the field of waste disposal in South Serbia lay in the cooperation among the municipalities and added that the agreement on the issue had already been  reached.

School

Bujanovac – The renovation of the “Muharem Kadriu” elementary school in Bujanovac’s village of Veliki Trnovac, whose classes are attended by 970 students, is underway.   The roof and wood joinery were replaced, the façade tidied up and the new lighting was installed. Persons responsible for this issue say that renovation of the school kitchen was planned, as well as construction of a gym.

600 THOUSAND EUROS FROM THE EU FOR DEVELOPMENT OF SOUTH SERBIA

Vranje  – As part of the European Partnership with Municipalities Program „Progress” , a non-refundable aid of 600 thousand euros was approved for the implementation of several new projects in South and Southwestern Serbia. The EU and the Swiss Government are going to finance five major infrastructural projects with the sum of around half a million euros.   The Medvedja-based “Termovent” plant is going to be reconstructed, so that it could be enabled to manufacture briquette. The city of Vranje, as well as the municipalities of Presevo, Crna Trava and Ivanjica, are also going to receive the funds, which will be used for improving the rural infrastructure, as well as for the renovation of schools and day – nurseries.

USAID HELPS MUNICIPALITIES IN SERBIA TO RESOLVE THEIR COMMON PROBLEMS BY ASSOCIATING WITH ONE ANOTHER

The city of Vranje, along with the municipalities of Bujanovac, Presevo and Vladicin Han, understood that the issues of unemployment, weak economy and a lack of the infrastructure  could be resolved only by pooling their efforts and resources, as well as by   working together on the accomplishemnt of their goals. They achieved this by means of the USAID’s new Sustainable Local Development Project.
