CENSUS IN SOUTH SERBIA – FEWER SERBS

Presevo/Bujanovac – The initial results of the census in South Serbia show that quite  fewer Serbs currently live there, especially in the territory of the municipality of Presevo, than in 2002, when the previous census was conducted.

Predejane – An analysis of the safety situation in thirteen municipalities of the Jablanica and Pcinj districts show that South Serbia’s residents are most apprehensive about drug – addiction and request that the issue should be solved.

CENNSUS RECORDS OBTAINED FROM SIX MILLION INHABITANTS IN EIGHT DAYS

Census records were obtained from around six milion citizens in eight days, said Ljiljana Djordjevic, Head of the Census Department at the Republican Statistics Office. According to her, the census has gotten into a routine and it is being conducted without any problems in the entire territory of  Serbia.

IMPROVEMENT OF SANITARY CONDITIONS OF A WASTE DUMP THAT THREATENS WATER SPRINGS BEGINS

Bujanovac – The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Serbia paid in the account of the municipality of Bujanovac the first installment of 8.5 million dinars, which is for the improvment of  sanitary conditions of a waste dump near the village of Rakovac, said Ljubisa Stosic,  Presidenty of the local community in Rakovac.

HAND OF A PATIENT FROM PRESEVO SUCESSFULLY SEWN ON AT NIS CLINICAL CENTER

Nis – A team of doctors from Nis Clinical  Center sucessfully replanted a hand of a patient from Presevo. The patient’s hand was severed off while he was working on a sheet-cutting press.

POLICE OFFICER SAVED A TWO – YEAR OLD GIRL’S LIFE

Medvedja – Agron Kosumi, a police officer from Medvedja, saved a two-year old girl from that town by giving her artificial respiration and massaging her heart after the girl had swallowed a dangerous doze of her medicine. In a letter of thanks, which the girl’s family sent to the police, it is said that the girl was suffocating after she had swallowed a larger quantity of capsules containing the medicine.
