SUPPORT PROVIDED BY GREAT BRITAIN Vranje, Bujanovac, Presevo – Great Britain shall support Serbia regarding Serbia’s submission of a request for the EU membership to the European Commission by the end of the month, said Stephen Wordsworth, the British Ambassador to Serbia, in Bujanovac yesterday.

GRAFFITI ACTIVITY IN BUJANOVAC

On Saturday, October 9, 2010, the Center for Tolerance and Integration of South Serbia organized a full-day graffiti-drawing activity. The said activity is part of the “I Love Bujanovac” project, which was supported by the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.

MULTI-ETHNIC FACULTY IN BUJANOVAC

On Wednesady, October 6, 2010, a special working group for higher education in South Serbia, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Coordination Body of the Government of Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, the Albanian National Council, as well as national and international experts, produced a recommendation on the opening of an institution of higer education in Bujanovac, where economics would be studied.

78 STUDENTS ENROLLED Мedvedja – Forty freshmen of the Serbian and five of the Albanian ethnic bacground received matriculation books of the Faculty of Law in Nis, while 33 stuudents of the Faculty of Economics are going to get them today.

A SESSION OF THE COORDINATION BODY’S PRESIDENCY HELD

A session of the Presidency of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja was held on Monday, October 4, 2010. Minister Milan Markovic, President of the Coordination Body, talked about the most important developments in the period between the two sessions and he also made a particular reference to the Coordination Body’s work results over the past eight months.

NIP ASSISTS WITH CONSTRUCTION OF WATER SUPPLY BUJANOVAC – 59 million dinars are going to be earmarked from the National Investment Plan (NIP) for the purpose of constructing a local water-supply system between the villages of Samoljica and Borovac in the municipality of Bujanovac, said Saip Kamberi, President of the Municipality of Bujanovac. “3.7 million dinars were earmarked from the local budget for this capital investment, while the beginning of the works is planned for this autumn“, Mr. Kamberi said.

“TELEKOM SRBIJA” OPENS BRANCH OFFICE IN MEDVEDJA “Telekom Srbija” a.d. opened yesterday its branch office in Medvedja, which is located at 38, Jablanicka St. “Numerous telecommunications facilities, such as the Internet for 1 dinar and cell phones at reduced prices, await the customers.  We have provided a donation, which consists of school equipment and didactic materials, to the children attending a pre-school institution “Mladost”, said Marina Tasic, Head of the Residential Customers Sales Office of “Telekom Srbija” a.d. in Leskovac.
