First grade students of the elementary school in the village of Reljan, as well as those in Presevo and in the villages of Veliki Trnovac and Zbevac, spent their first school day with Minister Milan Markovic, President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, who wished them a happy beginning of the school year in both Albanian and Serbian.

Invitation to members of the press: PRESIDENT OF THE COORDINATION BODY MINISTER MILAN MARKOVIC IS GOING TO DELIVER FREE SCHOOL EQUIPMENT FOR FIRST GRADE STUDENTS IN PRESEVO, BUJANOVAC AND MEDVEDJAOn the first day of the school year, at 11.30 am, on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, during a formal event, President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Milan Markovic is going to deliver free school bags and school equipment to the first grade students of elementary schools “Deveti maj” (the 9th. of May) and “Vuk Karadzic” in Presevo, as well as to those of elementary schools “Miharem Kadriu” and “Dragomir Trajkovic” in Bujanovac. CENTER FOR DAILY STAY OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS OPENED

Owing to the support of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, the “Jablanica” football club started a football school that gathers together the young from the municipality of Medvedja. From the establishment of the football school in April 2010, the “Jablanica” football club and its members played four friendly matches and took part in one tournament. The “Jablanica” football club scored excellent results at all the matches it had played.
On Tuesday, July 13, 2010, Minister Milan Markovic, President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, paid a visit to Presevo and Bujanovac, where he talked with Galip Beciri, President of the Albanian National Council, about the planned activities of and cooperation between the Albanian National Council and the Cooperation Body. Minister Markovic said that each and every meeting with representatives of the Albanians is an important step towards improving the position of Albanians in South Serbia, and he pointed out that education was one of the greatest problems faced by all sides. 
As part of the “Together against Drugs” project, the “Future” NGO from Veliki Trnovac, with the support of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, made a short movie entitled “Say NO”.
As part of the project “I like Bujanovac”, which was supported by the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, the Center for Tolerance and Integration of South Serbia organized a four- hour street activity on July 19, 2010. Within this activity, a multiethnic group of members of the said organization handed leaflets out to the residents of Bujanovac by which the young of all ethnic backgrounds were encouraged to get involved in promotion of their municipality. The leaflets were printed in Serbian, Albanian and Romany.
Yesterday Milan Markovic, President of the Coordination Body, Vincent Degert, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Rasim Ljajic, Minister of Labor and Social Policy, and Vladimir Cucic, the Serbian Commissioner for Refugees, opened an apartment building for social housing and handed over the contracts and keys to the beneficiary families..jpg)
The “Center for Positive Changes” from Presevo, in cooperation with the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, implements the “Best Book of the Young” project. 
The Center for Daily Stay, which was established by the Association of Parents of the Children and Young People with Special Needs from Presevo, began operating last week. With the support of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, the said Association adapted and adjusted the premises of the “Ibrahim Keljmendi” elementary school, so that they would be suitable for work with the children and young people with special needs.
